Tania Yager

Tania Yager, Vista native of @twistedheartpuppetworks is your Wild Hunt of Vista founder and lead coordinator.

“I’m incredibly passionate about The Wild Hunt of Vista and furthering the growth of Krampus inspired folk traditions in my area. To me, events like this call to a deeper and more primal part of winter. It speaks more so to the duality of the world, instead of the shiny plastic veneer of joy that is thrust upon us by capitalism and consumerism. To me it speaks of nature, and ancestors, of dark and light, and of old and ancient stories filled with profound lessons . Plus the masks and costumes are just bad ass!”

“I have always been entranced by stories of myths, legends, and monsters. I think the kernels of those tales form a lot of the reasons why we do some of the things we do today. The Dark Christmas Market is a celebration of old folklore and it’s magic and spirit captivate for me both the mystery of these ancient sagas and the modern celebration of tradition and cultures that might be found tucked away in old campfire stories and cautionary tales."
